IBC 2001 - MD 46

Sennheiser has developed a special interview and reporter’s microphone for broadcasting – the MD 46. It combines a cardioid pick-up pattern, itself a rare feature for this type of microphone, with a long microphone body, thus creating a unique tool for the reporter.

Made for the Rigors of Live Reporting
Packaged in a rugged all-metal housing, the MD 46 offers the reporter the best possible support in reporting and interview situations. Its long, easy-to-hold and sturdy microphone body allows the reporter to get closer to the interviewee even in difficult situations. Whereas conventional reporter’s microphones have an omni-directional pick-up pattern, the MD 46 is a cardioid microphone, with a pick-up pattern that guarantees maximum speech clarity even if there is loud ambient noise. In addition, its sound has been optimized for speech. The shock-mount capsule effectively reduces handling noise, while wind and pop noises are largely eliminated by a two-ply gauze sound inlet basket – particularly beneficial for interviews.

The MD 46 is available from all specialist dealers, at a recommended retail price of € 255.00. We would be pleased to send you a sample microphone for you to test.
