New reporters mics provide the reach

Sennheiser has introduced two new eporters’ microphones to its well established range of high quality broadcast sound products. Designed specifically for use in broadcast, these microphones are engineered to provide optimum acoustic performance, construction and handling characteristics for field reporting, ENG and commentary applications.

The all-metal housing, convenient long-body design and extremely wind and pop resistant double grille, combine with Sennheiser’s unparalleled broadcast experience to produce a cardioid microphone ideally suited to the specific needs of the professional reporter.

An enhanced frequency response and cardioid polar pick-up pattern guarantee exceptional levels of speech clarity, particularly in situations where a traditional omni mic would fail to deliver the necessary separation. The long handled design additionally facilitates closer miking of the interviewee.

An omni model - the MD42 - is also available, offering the same exemplary MD46 design characteristics but with the more traditional reporters’ pick-up pattern. Optional anthracite, red, blue, yellow, green and white coloured rings can be fitted to enable rapid field identification.
